Dh10m grant to renovate homes of Emiratis on lower incomes

Houses across Dubai are set to be revitalised

A Dh10 million fund to renovate and restore homes of Emiratis on lower incomes has been launched in Dubai.

The "Good Offices" project was announced by the Ministry of Community Development and Dubai Holding on Saturday.

The move comes in the Year of Zayed and in conjunction with Zayed Humanitarian Work Day which falls on June 4.

Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, said the project promoted partnership between Government bodies and other sectors.

The project also supported a culture of community responsibility as a fundamental value, she said.

The homes that fall under the scheme are located across Dubai.

The UAE has a long history of supporting all its citizens.

In April, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, intervened to help Ali Al Mazrouei, from Deqdaqah in Ras Al Khaimah.

Mr Al Mazrouei had called called in to an Ajman radio show to talk about his difficulties in financially supporting his family.

Sheikh Mohammed ordered authorities to provide him and his family with all their needs.
