A campaign to feed low income workers has delivered 20 million meals across Abu Dhabi since the start of May.

The ‘Together We Share’ initiative handed out food to hundreds of thousands of labourers living in 35 accommodation complexes in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra.

The humanitarian programme is set to continue, with the aim of providing millions of meals to those in need.

It is a part of The Authority of Social Contribution – Ma'an’s ‘Together We Are Good’ programme, which has also helped families struggling financially to cover the fees of children attending private schools in Abu Dhabi.

‘Together We Are Good’ was one of the UAE’s largest social support programmes, which brought members of the community together to help each other.

Individuals, businesses and families funded the programme by contributing money, meals, hotel rooms and even classrooms to the campaign.

The classrooms and hotel rooms were used by medical personnel and support staff who are on standby for urgent cases and need a place to isolate themselves away from their families.

Companies also offered programmes and training to help people who have been affected by the pandemic.

Those who wish to contribute financially to the fund can send SMS messages to 6670 (Dh1000), 6678 (Dh500), 6683 (Dh100) and 6658 (Dh50).
