Cabinet to hold annual meetings on UAE Centennial 2071 plan
ABU DHABI // The Cabinet has approved a measure to hold annual meetings every September on achieving the UAE Centennial 2071 goals.
The first meeting will develop a plan for the next five decades to achieve the goals, which include creating a flexible government, investing in education and advanced technology, establishing a diversified economy and instilling values of tolerance in society.
The two-day meetings will be led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, and attended by federal and local government bodies, reported Wam, the state news agency.
“The agenda will include several new ideas, and initiatives that aim to contribute to the success of UAE Centennial 2071,” said Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future.
“Task forces will be assigned to follow up on initiatives and projects in various fields include social, economic, environmental, developmental, knowledge-based, infrastructure and more sectors.”
The centennial plan was launched by the Vice President based on a lecture by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to outline the UAE’s future.
