The world's tallest building turned red, white and green as the UAE honoured the 59th Kuwait National Day.
The Burj Khalifa in Dubai was illuminated in Kuwait's familiar tricolour in celebration of the milestone occasion on Tuesday.
The spectacular show of friendship came after UAE leaders sent messages of support to the neighbouring nation and its emir, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, said "to our family and brothers in the loving Kuwait, we greatly congratulate you on your glorious National Day."

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, sent a message saying, "we share the joy of the people of Kuwait, the country of splendor and glory. May God perpetuate its security, stability and prosperity."
In addition, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, sent his own wishes to Kuwait, saying "may your celebrations last in splendour, goodness, prosperity and security."
February 25 marks several milestones in Kuwait's history, including the first broadcast of the national anthem, the first English news broadcast by Kuwait News Agency and two gold medal wins by local athletes.
To mark the day, Google created a Doodle to recognise the day when Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad became emir of Kuwait in 1950.
