A UAE-initiated conference, that will open in Russia on Thursday, will put the spotlight on education, youth empowerment, food security, and science and technology.

The third Aqdar World Summit will be hosted in Moscow from August 29 until September 1.

Twelve UAE officials, including eight ministers, will take the stage to offer insight on empowering communities through improved education initiatives.

The summit will be held alongside the Moscow Global Forum — an event that focuses on education practice around the world.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, will deliver the keynote speech during the opening ceremony.

Held under the theme ‘Global Empowerment of Communities: Experiences and Lessons learnt’, Col Dr Abdulrahman Al Mansoori, general co-ordinator for the Aqdar World Summit, previously said it acts as an opportunity to exchange ideas and build links with Russian officials.

“The main goal is for Emirati and Russian organisations to learn from one another,” he said.

“We will share with them the UAE experience in fields like artificial intelligence, education and youth empowerment."

The summit will tackle three main topics during three key sessions this year.

The first, titled ‘Education and National Service: The Fundamentals for Empowering UAE Youth’, aims to highlight the roles and responsibilities of young Emiratis in the UAE.

The second session will focus on sustainability practice in the UAE, looking specifically at how the country is dealing with the global food crisis in light of the growing global population.

While the third session will look at how the UAE has introduced science and technology methods to empower and improve the well-being of its residents.

The summit will feature more than 25 workshops and panel discussions and will also touch on the UAE’s experience in hosting the Special Olympics.
