DUBAI // A five-year-plan was launched to protect women and children and promote efforts to combat human trafficking.

The “Protecting You Makes Us Happy” initiative, launched by the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) and Dubai Police, is aimed at supporting and raising awareness of victims, witnesses, staff of authorities combating human trafficking and society as a whole.

“The plan seeks to make victims ‘ambassadors of the cause’ in their home countries,” said Lt Col Dr Sultan Al Jamal, head of the Dubai Police Human Trafficking Crimes Monitoring Centre. “A number of innovative programmes will be used for the first time in the plan which also aims to expand its reach overseas.”
