ABU DHABI // The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City called on landlords of abandoned buildings to obtain permits for demolishing the buildings within 15 days.
The municipality named for removal 25 abandoned buildings with health, social, economic or aesthetic implications on the city.
Inspectors surveyed the buildings and declared them unfit for habitation, and sent notices to the landlords.
The municipality deemed the buildings a source of public nuisance due to dust, waste and growth of weeds, saying they serve as a “hotbed” of insects and rodents.
