Fujairah mourns death of Sheikha Asila, 90

Three days of official mourning were declared in Fujairah yesterday after the death of Sheikha Asila bint Saif bin Surour, a member of the ruling family.

Three days of official mourning were declared in Fujairah yesterday after the death of Sheikha Asila bint Saif bin Surour, a member of the ruling family. In a statement released to WAM, the Court of the Ruler of Fujairah, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed, mourned the death of Sheikha Asila, who died early yesterday morning at the age of 90. Without releasing details, the Court paid its respects and sent its condolences to her family. "We pray to Allah to grant the soul of the deceased peace and her family the patience to bear the loss," the Court said.

The Court also announced three days of official mourning in the emirate, starting from yesterday. Funeral prayers were held yesterday morning, with the sheikha later buried in a cemetery in Fujairah. @Email:rghazal@thenational.ae
