From Moldova with love for opportunity
DUBAI //For CJ, working at a fashion shop in a mall has expanded her job experience and provided a chance to learn English.
"I'm enjoying my time as a shop assistant in Dubai," said the Moldovan, aged 23.
"It's my field. I like to work with people, I like to give customer service.
"I've been here for 10 months. They recruited me from my country. The company sent an HR team and recruited 15 of us.
"When we arrived we got accommodation for the first two weeks. There was training for the first two weeks, then we found our own apartment."
She said she found Dubai expensive, but added: "For me it's OK, we are getting nice salaries. It's not about the money, I'm fine with the money but I came here to get experience. My country is really small and it's very difficult to get a job.
"I'm still young and I thought it would be great experience to come and to work with a lot of people of different nationalities, so this will be great experience for me if I go back to my country.
"This was the idea, to come and improve my English, because when I came I didn't speak English.
"It's really hard in my country, so adjusting to Dubai was for me not a problem.
"I have some friends here and I feel very safe."
