ABU DHABI // Residents are advised to remain indoors or avoid direct exposure to the sun today, with temperatures expected to reach 48°C in the interior regions.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology said there would be no significant changes in the weather in coming days, with the temperature fluctuating between 44°C and 48°C until Thursday.
Winds and sea conditions will be light to moderate, the duty forecaster at the centre said, with the temperature in coastal areas between 40°C and 45°C, he said.
The centre said Friday would be the longest day of the year at 13 hours, 45 minutes from sunrise to sunset.
It will also be the first day of the astronomical Northern Hemisphere summer.
