Four killed in Ajman after driver loses control of 4x4

The accident occurred when a minivan carrying 12 people collided with the 4x4 in Ajman.

AJMAN // Four people were killed and eight others seriously injured when a 4x4 collided with a minivan on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road in Ajman.

The accident happened after a 31-year-old Emirati lost control of his 4x4 and hit the van, which was carrying 12 Asians.

The minivan overturned several times, killing four passengers instantly. Eight other people travelling in the van suffered moderate injuries, said Lt Col Shuaib Kajoor, the head of the Patrol and Traffic Department at Ajman Police.

Captain Fouad Al Khaja, head of Ajman Police Patrol Section, said rescue vehicles and ambulance crews rushed to the scene of the accident and transported the injured to ??? hospital emergency room for treatment.

The bodies were taken to the hospital's morgue.

Police diverted traffic away from the crash while the damaged vehicles were removed and the road was cleared of debris.
