Police believe 19-year-old took overdose and friends tried to cover their tracks
Four arrested for murder as Emirati found dead in burnt out car
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of an Emirati man was found in a burnt out car.
The 19-year-old was discovered by police and fire crews in the Abu Hail area of Dubai's Deira district on December 14.
Police believe he took a heroin overdose while with friends, just days after he was released from prison on National Day.
Instead of taking him to hospital after he collapsed, fearing having to answer to police, the group drove his body to the area and left him in the back seat.
Two days later they returned to find him dead, and decided to set the vehicle on fire.
Police traced the four men and believe the fact he was left to die, and attempted to hide their tracks, constitutes murder.
An official said all four were referred to Dubai Public Prosecution.
