Five cars catch fire in Dubai's Discovery Gardens

The blaze broke out in one car and spread to four others, civil defence says

Five vehicles caught fire on Friday afternoon in Discovery Gardens in Dubai.

The fire broke out in one car and had spread rapidly to the other four, Dubai Civil Defence said.

“The fire was reported at 1.39pm by residents after black and grey smoke spread across the parking area,” a Dubai Civil Defence official said.

Firefighters from Al Barsha were dispatched and tackled the blaze at 1.43pm.

Two vehicles were destroyed.

“The fire was brought under control by 2.14pm,” the spokesman said.

No injuries were reported. Investigations into the cause of the fire is under way.
