Firefighters tackle warehouse blaze as area is evacuated

Emergency services called into action as fire breaks out in Umm Al Quwain

An industrial site in Umm Al Quwain was evacuated as firefighters battled a warehouse blaze.

Fire crews and paramedics were called out to the scene at 11pm on Monday night, with 80 people forced to leave the area as safety concerns were sparked.

Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence managed to bring the fire in the old industrial area of the emirate under control.

The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.

Lt Col Dr Salem bin Hamdha, director of Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence, said there were no casualties in the incident.
