Firefighters tackle blaze in second Dubai Marina tower

Crews extinguish fire on balcony after Tiger Tower evacuated

A fire has struck another high-rise tower in Dubai Marina, just days after a blaze tore through The Torch tower.

Dubai Civil Defence extinguished the balcony blaze in Tiger Tower on Sunday after residents were evacuated. Some smoke earlier hung near the tower’s top floors.

On Friday, a blaze hit the 86-storey Torch Tower nearby. It was the second time in two-and-a-half years that the 335m tower has been ravaged by fire.

Residents have been housed in hotels nearby while the investigation continues.

The Torch also caught fire in February 2015. There were no major casualties reported in either blaze.
