Fire crews tackle fire in Musaffah for hours

Abu Dhabi fire fighters rushed to the scene after receiving word of the blaze at 4:30pm.

ABU DHABI // Teams from Civil Defence, Rapid Intervention and the Emergency and Public Safety Department of Abu Dhabi Police were still trying to put out a fire in Musaffah last night.

No one was injured in the blaze which started in the afternoon at a power supply station in Musaffah.

Lt Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department, said that the teams rushed to the site of the fire after receiving word at 4.30pm.

The Lt said in the afternoon that the area was being cooled and that an investigation was underway to determine the cause of the fire.

But another report sent out by Security Media late in the evening said the blaze was still being tackled.

Any updates on the fire would be given as soon as possible, said the Lt.
