Federal authority spends Dh400m to improve quality of water in Ajman

The Federal Electricity and Water Authority is spending Dh400 million to improve the quality of drinking water in Ajman.

AJMAN // The Federal Electricity and Water Authority is spending Dh400 million to improve the quality of drinking water in Ajman.

Mohammed Saleh, the director general of the authority, said it had opened the first of three desalination plants last month. The plant can treat up to 3 million gallons of water a day.

"Next month another desalination plant to treat up to 7 million gallons of water will also go into service. There will also be a third desalination plant treating up to 10 million gallons of water, starting work by the end of 2013."
