UAE weather: Unstable weather conditions remain through Sunday
Remnants from Saturday’s storm lingers around the Northern Emirates
As rain poured down onto the Northern Emirates on Saturday, unstable conditions will continue throughout Sunday, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).
The service said that the turbulent weather would continue over “most areas of the state” with thick cloud coverage and rainfall. Just before 8:30 am, the weather centre reported heavy rain in Fujairah. Windy conditions will result in blowing dust and the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea becoming very rough at times.
Areas in the Northern Emirates experienced the brunt of the weather storm that shook the UAE on Saturday. Hail was reported in Ras Al Khaimah while the emirate’s police advised motorists to avoid the mountains as a result of potential floods in the wadis.
