The dusty weather and sandstorms that have caused havoc over the past few days will continue well into tomorrow.

Forecasters on Monday have warned that visibility could drop to less than 2,000 metres because of the dust-ups.

The warning is in place until 2pm, but the conditions generally are set to persist into mid-week.

There will also be a drop in temperatures on Monday while winds could reach 40km/h along the coast.

Temperatures could hit highs of 40°C along with coast with lows of 20°C forecast in the mountains.

The sea is set to be moderate to rough at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Oman Sea.

Sandstorms on Sunday resulted in long delays for motorists on the country's roads with the 311 particularly hit.

Delays were also reported at some UAE airports. Firefighters also had to battle to put out a fire in Dubai Marina's Zen Tower that spread because of the strong winds. There were no casualties.
