UAE weather: Fog lingers during early morning commute in Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Fog surrounded parts of the Emirates during the early morning commute on Sunday, but conditions are expected to clear by late morning.

The National Centre of Meteorology urged motorists to take precautions while on the road due to low visibility.

"Warning, visibility levels may drop to less than 1,000 metres at times over some coastal and internal areas, during the period from 1am (Saturday) [until] 8am on Sunday," a statement from the forecaster said.

Dubai Police also took to Twitter to warn drivers of the foggy conditions and urged motorists to be extra vigilant.

The UAE is set for a hot and sunny Sunday with a moderate breeze moving in in the the afternoon.

Temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi are predicted to hit 42°C on what is expected to be a humid day.

A light early morning breeze will blow south before picking up and turning north in the afternoon.
