The UAE will have a cloudy but sweltering Wednesday, with the possibility of rain over eastern areas of the country as temperatures continue to rise into the mid-forties.

The National Centre for Meteorology forecasts temperatures in Abu Dhabi to range from 32°C to 44°C, and 32°C to 45°C in Dubai, in a slightly warmer day than Tuesday.

Winds may reach up to 40kph across the UAE, blowing in a south-westerly to north-westerly direction.

Light to moderate winds are expected to occasionally blow up dust through Wednesday, especially northward and eastward.

The cloudy weather is expected to continue through the rest of the week, the weather bureau says.

The seas are expected to be slight to moderate.
