Dark clouds have gathered above Dubai as forecasters warned of more rain in parts of the country.

The National Centre for Meteorology said that some rainy clouds were likely in coastal regions on Friday, while other parts of the country would remain fair.

By late morning, Abu Dhabi city was cool and clear but in Dubai, ominous clouds were spotted by residents.

It follows major storms across the UAE in recent weeks, with torrential rain and high winds hitting the country on Sunday. It followed a period of bad weather on the east coast late last month, as a result of Cyclone Kyarr.

Top temperatures were expected to hit 32 degrees on Friday, with rain a possibility on the UAE's north eastern coast and in the east of Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi island was predicted to escape the rain, with a 'mostly sunny' day predicted.
