Freshening winds and increasing cloud cover will bring a chance of light rainfall over some parts of the UAE on Sunday.

Islands, coastal and some northern areas are most likely to catch a shower on Sunday afternoon, with temperatures falling to 24°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Moderate to fresh north-westerly winds with speeds reaching 50 kilometres an hour over the sea will cause rough to very rough conditions at times in the Arabian Gulf and moderate to rough in the Oman Sea.

The National Centre of Meteorology urged seagoers to take precautions against waves of up to 2.74 metres and 40kph to 50kph winds in the Oman Sea until Sunday 8pm.

The strong wind will also reduce visibility in places, with sand and dust causing potential difficulties for motorists in exposed areas throughout the rest of the week.

Temperatures are expected to range between 12°C and 24°C inland, 14°C to 23°C along the coast and 10°C to 21°C in the mountains.
