UAE weather: cloud, rain and more sandstorms as seasonal weather lingers

The UAE is in for another few days of sand and dust storms, accompanied by strong winds and potential rainfall.

The National Centre of Meteorology on Wednesday warned residents of potentially hazardous conditions along parts of Abu Dhabi's coast and the Arabian Gulf.

Motorists have also been warned for reduced visibility on the roads.

Rain fell overnight, with Sir Bani Yas and Delma islands particularly affected. Showers also fell on Dubai airport on Wednesday morning.

Strong northerly winds reaching speeds of 50 kilometres per hour are also are set the churn up the sea, the NCM said.

While temperatures have risen over the past few days, the seasonal weather is still expected to linger at least until the weekend.

Maximum temperatures of 37°C are expected on Wednesday, while it could sink as low as 14°C in the mountains.
