Commuters were forced to battle foggy conditions over parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah on Thursday morning.
In Abu Dhabi traffic was slow on Salam Street and the approaches to Mussaffah.
Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to take caution due to fog on several motorways.
The conditions also affected motorists in Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah, with those travelling urged to slow down and take caution.
The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai issued an alert on Twitter, urging motorists to reduce speed.
During foggy weather, slow down gradually and drive at a speed that suits the conditions, it said in the tweet.
Heavy traffic was also reported on Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, Business Bay, and on Shaikh Zayed Road before and after Al Garhoud Bridge.
