SHARJAH // Two people were injured and a kitchen destroyed in a gas pipe explosion at a residential building in the early hours of Sunday.
It happened in an apartment in Abu Shagara just before 2.55am and Sharjah Civil Defence said the blast also shattered glass windows in the building’s hallway.
Crews from civil defence crews headquarters, Samnan and Al Mina were dispatched to the scene.
Rescuers found two people injured, both of whom were taken to hospital for treatment.
Civil defence later handed over the site to Sharjah Police’s forensics team to determine the cause of the fire.
