The body of a teenager who went missing at sea has been found by Sharjah Police after a 10-hour search operation.
The Emirati, 17, disappeared on Sunday evening while swimming off the beach in Kalba, Sharjah Police said.
Police received a report about the incident at 6.20pm on Sunday, said Col Ali Al Hamoudi, director of the Eastern Region Police Department.
The search was led by the Eastern Region Police Department at the General Command of Sharjah Police, the National Centre for Search and Rescue and personnel from the Eastern Region border and coastguard.
The body was transferred to Kalba Hospital.
Sharjah Police extended its condolences to the family of the deceased.
