Hazy and cloudy conditions are set to continue over the next two days with the cloud cover increasing in eastern and southern areas.

Light and moderate winds would blow dust and sand over exposed areas, a forecast from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology said on Sunday.

Humidity levels would increase at night and in the morning over the coastal areas with the maximum humidity in the coast forecast to touch highs of 90 per cent.

The sea would turn rough by Tuesday in the Oman Sea, the centre predicted.

Temperatures would stay at a maximum of between 43°C and 49°C in interior areas, and range between 42°C and 47°C in coastal areas, and between 30°C and 39°C in the mountains.

Humidity levels could go up to between 65 to 90 per cent across the coast, 55 to 80 per cent in the interior regions and 35 to 55 in the mountains.

The lowest temperature in the country was 26.5°C recorded early Sunday in the Jais mountain.
