Formula 1 fans may miss out on the Emirates' usual blazing sunshine this weekend with weather forecasters predicting cloudy skies.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix runs from Friday through until Sunday and temperatures are expected to hover around the mid to late 20 degrees C mark.

Practice sessions for the F1 take place on Friday, with qualifying races held over Saturday. The main race starts at 5.10pm on Sunday evening.

The National Centre of Meteorology said it was expecting partially cloudy skies over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a chance of rainfall on Monday evening.

Some areas may experience fog and low visibility and rain could also fall on Tuesday, as the nation continues to hold National Day celebrations.

A ceremony involving thousands of UAE tribesmen will be held in Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday afternoon. The Union March is part the Zayed Heritage Festival National Day celebrations.
