Emiratis are being attracted to unconventional career choices at Al Ain Zoo, where almost four in 10 staff are UAE nationals.
The zoo says 39 per cent of its staff members are Emirati. Mariam Al Shamsi, director of human resources and strategy at the Al Ain Wildlife Park and Resort, attributed the high percentage to the unconventional array of career choices.
Mrs Al Shamsi said attracting Emirati candidates "contributes to the zoo's success to lay the foundations for a socially cohesive and economically sustainable community".
