RAS AL KHAIMAH // An Emirati mother and her three children have died after their car was caught in flooding in a wadi.

Brig Ghanem Ahmed Ghanem, general director of central operations at RAK Police, said the woman’s husband was rescued from the car.

“Police pulled out the mother A S A and the father A A K, who was transferred to the nearest hospital for treatment,” said Brig Ghanem.

The bodies of the children - an 11-year-old girl and two boys aged six and three - were discovered after a search.

Police received a call on Wednesday evening that the car was caught in floodwater in the Wadi Al Qor in the south of Ras Al Khaimah.

Officers managed to find the car with the help of residents.

Brig Ghanim urged all drivers to be cautious while driving in the rainy weather and high winds.

The funeral will be held in Wadi May in Fujairah on Thursday morning.
