An Emirati man donated 100,000 of various local tree types to be planted in the UAE as part of the Year of Zayed.
Salem Al Qaidi, the owner of Al Qaidi Farms, said that half the trees will be distributed to citizens and residents in different emirates of the UAE while the other half will be donated to public parks and reservations in Sharjah.
Mr Al-Qaidi said to the Arabic newspaper Al Bayan that his donation comes in line with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's directive to increase the green areas to help improve environmental conditions.
