Police reiterate warnings to motorists about looking down at mobiles
Emirati driver who drove into lorry was distracted by mobile phone
An Emirati man was injured in a traffic accident when his car collided with a lorry on Friday, Abu Dhabi Police said.
Lt Col Suhail Al Mazroui, deputy director of traffic department in Al Dhafra, where the accident happened, said that the driver, in his 20s, "got distracted with his mobile phone, swerved and collided with a lorry".
“We urge drivers to comply with traffic rules and to stop using their mobile phones while driving,” said Lt Col Al Mazroui.
The man, who was driving a four-wheel drive vehicle, was taken to Madinat Zayed Hospital.
