Emirati boy hurt after falling from second floor school window in Fujairah
Teenager recovering well after allegedly losing balance
Investigations have been launched into a teenage boy's fall from a school window in Fujairah.
The Emirati, 17, fell from the second floor at Said bin Hamad Al Sharqi School on Tuesday, after allegedly losing his balance.
The pupil was rushed to Khorfakkan Hospital. On Wednesday, school administration officers who visited him said he was recovering well.
“We visited him and he was fully awake and was speaking and laughing with his classmates who came to visit him,” one of them said.
“His injuries are not severe. He was only bruised in a few places,” said Abdullah Al Naqbi, who works at Al Merbeh School.
In 2016, an Emirati girl, 14, was seriously hurt and suffered several fractures after falling from the second floor of her school in Al Bidyah.
Alaa Al Abduli was sitting on a small wall between classrooms that had no fence when she lost her balance and fell to the ground at Lubaba bint Al Harith School.
