A range of interactive workshops, hackathons, youth events and other activities will be hosted by the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (Enec) to mark UAE Innovation Month which kicked off on Thursday.
The five-day programme, which will run from 4 to 8 February, aims to foster innovative thinking and the pursuit of excellence along with strengthening the UAE’s global presence and increase its competitiveness on the international stage, in line with the directives of the UAE Government.
Jointly developed by the UAE Government and private sector entities, the programme will include an Innovation Majlis, where experts on innovation will share their knowledge and experiences and engage with employees through an interactive panel discussion.
Mohamed Al Hammadi, Enec’s chief executive, said that the initiative has been designed to encourage innovative and creative thought by Enec employees in an effort to improve productivity and refine work methods and processes.
“Innovative employees inspire creativity around them by coming up with unique solutions to challenges. Whilst ensuring the highest levels of safety and quality,” said Mr Al Hammadi
“Participating in UAE Innovation Month is in line with our commitment to supporting the UAE’s transition to a knowledge-based economy through the development of the UAE Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program that will help diversify the energy mix and power the future prosperity and growth of the UAE,” he added
This week's events will also include a School Innovation Festival for students where they will learn about the importance of innovation, receive training on using creative tools, listen to stories about Enec’s most pioneering projects, and engage in team building activities.
