Emirates A380 blossoms at Dubai Miracle Garden – video
More than 500,000 fresh flowering plants and living plants have been used to bring a life-size version of an Emirates A380 to life at Dubai Miracle Garden.
When in full bloom, the display will have an unprecedented 5 million flowers and weigh more than 100 tonnes (the take-off weight of an actual A380 is 575 tonnes).
More than 200 installation crew members worked meticulously for 10 hours a day over 180 days to build, layer and mount the foliage.
The display even includes moving engine turbines and that capture the essence of the original aircraft design.
The installation is the largest structure to be built at the garden and is set on a flowerbed of 7,460 square metres, about 10 per cent of the whole plot.
