Dubai's Royal Family performed early morning prayers to mark Eid Al Fitr on Tuesday.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, was joined by his sons and dignitaries to mark the beginning of the festival that follows Ramadan.
During Eid, Muslims often wear new clothes and visit family and friends, exchanging greetings with every person they come across.
This year the public sector and schools have an entire week off, while the private sector has four days leave, with many residents taking advantage of the break to travel abroad.
