ABU DHABI // “Ambitious dreamers” with a passion for innovation have been advised to visit Abu Dhabi’s Masdar Institute of Science and Technology on Saturday.

The Masdar Institute Open Day 2014 will be held at the campus premises at Masdar City for ambitious undergraduates with potential to become successful scientists and researchers in future energy.

“Through this event we are reaching out to enthusiastic undergraduates and practicing professionals who are keen to develop themselves into research scientists and world-changing innovators,” said Dr Fred Moavenzadeh, Masdar Institute’s president.

“With the support of the UAE leadership, Masdar Institute has developed into a world-class academic institution that can help turn the country’s talented youth into high-tech researchers and inventors in critical science and technology.

“Open Day will show the UAE’s ambitious dreamers how we can help to provide them with a rewarding career that contributes to improving the world.”

The event will include presentations by heads of departments and the institute centres for research, iCentres, faculty members, research staff and students.

Prospective students will be able to gain an insight into the institute’s holistic academic, research and outreach offerings, as well as scholarship options and on and off-campus student facilities.

The institute recently launched initiatives for its next phase of growth, namely the five new iCentres and the four academic departments under which the eight master’s and doctorate programmes are grouped. They will be on display at the Open Day.

Individual programmes will host their own stalls explaining course details, research activities, career options and benefits of studying in that programme.
