Fifteen students win Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed grant

ABU DHABI // Fifteen young Emiratis are the latest to benefit from the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Higher Education Grant, which helps Zayed University graduates to pursue master's and PhD programmes at home and abroad.
Students were picked for their academic performance and for the relevance of their subjects to the country's development.
Priority was given to students in education, social sciences, tourism, science, museum studies, health care, public administration, engineering and architecture.
"This batch of winners includes an elite group of excelling young Emirati researchers, who have obtained admission to outstanding world universities," said Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, managing director of the Emirates Foundation for Youth Development.
Students can apply for the grant at emiratesfoundation.ae. Applicants must be Zayed University graduates who have been accepted at a UAE or foreign university accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and included in the top 200 Academic Ranking of World Universities.
The programme was launched in May 2011 by Sheikh Mohammed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. More than 46 graduates have already benefited.
