ABU DHABI // A professor at Insead business school in Abu Dhabi has been named one of the world’s top 50 thinkers in management and innovation.
Prof Hal Gegersen, from the US, is one of seven Insead academics from different international campuses to be recognised by the Thinkers50 Awards.
Prof Gregersen said he was humbled to be included in the list and to share the accolade with so many innovative thinkers.
His recent book, The Innovator’s DNA: Mastering the Five Skills of Disruptive Innovators, was an eight-year study that explored the fundamental question of where disruptive innovations come from, and what roles senior executives, managers and employees play in creating highly innovative teams and organisations.
“It’s an exceptional honour for such a young campus to have one of its professors recognised,” said Prof Miguel Lobo, the Abu Dhabi campus director.
“In addition to his global recognition and impact, Hal Gregersen has made a tremendous contribution to the intellectual environment in the Abu Dhabi campus and left a mark through the many executive-development programmes he directed and delivered to Emirati executives and organisations.”
The Thinkers50 Awards is a biennial competition that honours the world’s best minds in management, leadership and innovation, global solutions and future thinking, and also includes an award for best book.
