Dubai Police showcase fleet of luxury supercars

The force's Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador and Aston Martin One-77 star in the well-produced clip.

DUBAI // There’s no point in owning a Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes SLS and a Lamborghini Aventador if you can’t show them off, right?

This is exactly why Dubai Police has decided to showcase its fleet of luxury cars in action on the city’s key roads.

The 88-second night-time video, posted on the force’s YouTube channel, begins with a wide-angle shot of the brightly lit emirate and gradually homes in on the vehicles whizzing through the city.

The cars manoeuvre among one another on Mohammed bin Zayed Boulevard before coming to a halt in front of the Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain as crowds erupt in joy.

Dubai Police said the fleet of luxury cars were to promote the image of the authorities and to encourage the public to interact with the police. A Lexus RCF, equipped with computers and cameras, is the latest vehicle to join the police fleet, which includes a McLaren MP4-12C, Aston Martin One-77, Audi R8, Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes SLS, BMW M6, Lamborghini Aventador, Ferrari FF, and Bentley Continental GT.

Dubai Police chief Maj Gen Khamis Al Muzeina said the fleet of cars was used to patrol heritage sites as well as other places frequented by tourists.
