Dubai Police's super-car fleet has more than doubled with the addition of three luxury vehicles to its patrol force.

A Mercedes SLS, a Bentley Continental GT, and a collectors-item Aston Martin One-77 will patrol the streets alongside the current fleet's Ferrari FF and Lamborghini Aventador.

The most impressive is the limited addition Aston Martin One, of which only 77 were made.

With a price tag approaching the Dh8 million mark, the car is one of the fastest in the world with its V-12, 750 horse-power engine pushing the car to speeds over 350 kph, much faster than most aircraft lift off the ground.

The addition of the three super cars brings the fleet's price tag to about Dh12m.

Maj Gen Khamis Mattar, deputy head of Dubai Police, said the addition of the cars, was part of Dubai Police's keenness to keep up with the growth of the city as a tourism and business hub.

He added Dubai Police were aiming to achieve the goals of Dubai Expo by showcasing the luxury vehicles in a city that has become a cultural melting pot, and a popular business and tourism destination able to deliver top-notch services.

The luxury security vehicles will be on display at the Dubai Police stand at the Arabian Travel Market, a travel and tourism event running from tomorrow until Wednesday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
