DUBAI // Top designer clothes will move from the racks to the rails today for a fashion show on the Dubai Metro.
Models will board the Express Fashion at Burj Khalifa Station at 1pm and use it as a catwalk as it leaves for Nakheel Station.
The private show between the two stations, part of the Dubai Shopping Festival, continues on the return trip.
Bloomingdale's Dubai will debut its Spring/Summer 2013 collection at the event.
“We are delighted to present an Express Fashion show on the world’s longest driverless, fully automated rail network,” said Suhaila Ghubash, events director of Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment.
And more than 100 amateur and professional models will hit the catwalk at Dubai Mall Fountain Promenade on Saturday, at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm.
After the festival ends, there will be a midnight fashion show on February 26 at Dubai Mall.
The mall is looking to promote its late opening hours, and shoppers will see collections from Miss Selfridge, Jack Wills and River Island.
