DUBAI // A man who molested his 9-year-old niece on the back seat of his car has been sentenced to a year in prison.
MS, a 34-year-old driver from Pakistan, was supposed to be taking the child to play when he stopped in a deserted area near to Dubai Hospital on the evening of June 17 to let her go to the toilet.
When the girl returned to the car her uncle joined her on the back seat before undressing and molesting her. She said this was not the first time he had done so.
A member of the public, MR, a 31-year-old Emirati, grew suspicious after noticing the man's white Nissan Sunny parked between two lorries at about 9.30pm. He used his flash light to look inside the car and saw the man lying on top of the naked girl. He then knocked on the window and the man inside the car opened the door.
"He confessed to molesting her and apologised to me. He asked me not to report him to police," said the Emirati.
The man will be deported after completing his prison term.
