Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has transferred ownership of several media properties owned by Arab Media Group to Dubai Media Incorporated, according to WAM. The properties include Al Emarat Al Youm and Emirates Business 24/7 newspapers, as well as Masar Printing and Publishing Company and Noor Dubai Radio and TV. The move comes a month after Sheikh Mohammed transfered Al Bayan newspaper from AMG to DMI. Under the agreement, all staff of the newspapers, Masar and Noor shall be transferred from AMG to DMI, according to WAM. The move makes DMI one of the biggest media houses in the region, as it already included Al Bayan newspaper, Dubai TV, Sama Dubai TV, Dubai ONe TV, Dubai Sports Channel and Dubai Racing Channel. Shiekh Mohammed asked the management and staff of both entities to work toward smooth implementation of the resolution, and urged them to double their efforts to maintain Dubai's image. Ahmed Abdullah al Shaikh, who is both the managing director of DMI and the media escort of Sheikh Mohammed, described the resolution as a "major leap for the DMI".
