ABU DHABI // Bumper-to-bumper cars jammed the Dubai-Fujairah road this afternoon as motorists stopped to take pictures of the mountain rain.

“It started to rain at around 3pm and it’s still going on,” said Col. Hassan Salem, the general manager of traffic at the Fujairah Police.

“There was congestion due to people stopping their cars to see the water coming down from the mountains.”

He said the road took around half an hour to clear up.

So far, no accidents have been reported but the police have taken precautions. It dispatched three patrol cars and an ambulance onto the streets of Fujairah.

“There is a lot of traffic on the roads at the moment,” said Col. Salem.

“Drivers should be careful by driving slowly and keeping at least 10 to 15 metres of distance with other cars.”
