DUBAI // A Nigerian student has been jailed for three months after consuming a chocolate brownie laced with hashish.
K E, 20, told the criminal court that she was duped into taking the narcotics.
“My friend gave me chocolate brownie and I ate it but I didn’t know it had drugs in it,” she said.
Emirati policeman K S, 30, testified that they arrested her on November 4 at 1.30am after receiving a tip off about her drug use.
He said when officers arrived at her address in Dubai Marina she voluntarily handed over a small amount of drugs.
The defendant was charged with the consumption of drugs and possession of 0.06 grammes of marijuana.
She will be deported once she has finished her sentence.
