Dubai arrests 206 illegal street vendors and beggars

Raids by Dubai police have resulted in 206 street vendors, beggars and illegal car washers facing deportation.

DUBAI // Dubai police arrested 206 street vendors, beggars and illegal car washers last month. About 850 inspections resulted in the arrests and seizure of thousands of illegal products including perfumes, cameras, watches and boxes of fruits and vegetables, according to WAM. Nearly 4000 pirated DVDs were also seized. The raids were conducted by Dubai Municipality inspectors, in cooperation with Dubai Police and the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department. The offenders are to be deported. The seized goods will be destroyed after legal action has been completed.
