Local telecom company Du is offering free recharge cards to UAE labourers.
The token of goodwill is in support of the Oral Hygiene Drive, which was initiated Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The drive aims to raise health awareness and provide low-income workers with oral treatment, as they lack insurance cover and often cannot afford treatment.
The company has already announced it has distributed prepaid cards with national and international minutes, as part of the first phase of the initiative.
“This working community has played a key role in the construction of the UAE’s award winning cityscape and it is our responsibility to support them by providing this segment of our community with a connection to home,” said Fahad Al Hassawi, du’s Chief Commercial Officer.
