Drugs police ambush gang smuggling heroin capsules

Federal anti-drugs police in the UAE have caught a gang trying to sell 4kg of heroin in various parts of the Gulf.

Federal anti-drugs police in the UAE have caught a gang trying to sell 4kg of heroin in various parts of the Gulf, in an operation that lasted several months and involved authorities in Kuwait and Oman.

There were six gang members in all, spread between the UAE, Kuwait and Oman. The ring leader, S K, was based in the UAE, said Col Saeed Abdullah Al Suweidi, director general of the UAE federal anti-drugs department. He and two others, A M and A K, were arrested in Abu Dhabi in a police ambush.
